INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this position is to enhance the client and guest service experience. This is done by: exhibiting a high degree of client and guest focus & oral communication skills, displaying a thorough knowledge of West Chester Pet Resort and Lyne Animal Hospitals products, procedures and telephone techniques, following safety procedures, and displaying initiative and dependability.

MAJOR DUTIES
Provide a warm, friendly and caring environment for our guests and their pets, even in the face of adversity.
Greet customers with a smile and acknowledgement.
Provide prompt, helpful and knowledgeable services to our telephone callers.
Ensure emergencies are handled promptly.
Possess thorough job knowledge, with regard to services and products.
Ensure our guests understand their charges and collect remittance for those charges.
Follow the guidelines set forth in the Employee Handbook & the Receptionist Manual.
Demonstrate initiative in all areas of performance.
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
Demonstrate good dependability.
Maintain the neatness and cleanliness of the lobby and retail areas, and any other area of the facility.
Assist doctors, managers, supervisors, or any other area, as needed.

CONTROL OVER WORK
The customer drives the receptionist day. Receptionists have little control over the order or time at which they service the customer

OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS
Skills and Knowledge: The receptionist is a key customer contact position. As such, excellent oral communication skills are required, even in the face of adversity. Receptionists must maintain the utmost professionalism, as they are constantly in the public eye. Our guests’ perception of our facility literally begins and ends with the receptionist. The reception staff works closely with other functional areas of the facility including the animal care and animal hospital staff. It is critical the receptionists use their problem solving skills to satisfy unhappy customers or resolve scheduling or communication issues.
Physical Effort: Consistently sit for long periods of time; frequent keying; intermittent walking, stooping and bending; continuous auditory acuity and vision needed.
Working Conditions: This is primarily an indoor position, although receptionists may be outdoors at times. Receptionists must be able to be in the presence of dogs and cats. Some exposure to bites, scratches and animal waste. Possible exposure to contagious diseases. Some exposure to unpleasant odors, noises, cleaning solvents and chemicals.
Guest Services Coordinator positions

INTRODUCTION
The purpose of the position is to provide care and the basic needs of animals that are here for Daycare or Boarding at West Chester Pet Resort. Duties include: observing pets appearance for physical condition, signs of illness, disease and discomfort; cleaning and disinfecting the pet suites as often as necessary; assist with the feeding and watering of the pets in our care; actively monitor pets during group activities & see to their safety and well-being; provide Tender Loving Care and comfort to pets in our care; assist any doctor, manager, supervisor &/or any other team in the facility, as needed.

MAJOR DUTIES
The Guest Services Coordinator will perform the following duties.
Provide care for animals housed/visiting West Chester Pet Resort. Perform work according to established methods and follow directions as provided by the Team Leader or any manager. Immediately report signs of illness, disease, injury or unusual activity to the Team Leader or a manager or veterinarian using established protocol.
Apply knowledge of normal food and liquid requirements of animals. As required, provide special food and liquids.
Actively monitor pets during group or individual activities. Monitor animals’ body language and demeanor for signs of aggression &/or fearfulness towards other pets or humans.
React promptly and in a safe manner to situations involving pet or human safety.
At request of receptionists, practitioners and animal health technicians, discharge and admit animals; ensure animals being discharged are clean and in good condition.
Make sure cages and animals are properly numbered and identified and that personal property (toys, treats, blankets, leashes) are stored in the proper area and identified.
Clean suites . Wash and dry towels and blankets. Wash and sterilize water and food bowls. Empty trash if needed.
Patrol hospital and resort grounds daily, picking up any trash and stool material.
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
Demonstrate good dependability.
Demonstrate initiative in all areas of performance.
Follow the guidelines set forth the Employee Handbook and the Kennel Manual.
Assist any doctor, manager, supervisor, or any other area, as needed.In accordance with West Chester Pet Resort operating instructions, determine care required in keeping with the individual needs and circumstances of animals; follow special instructions as issued. Pet owners, veterinarians & animal health technicians provide specific instructions in giving medications, feeding specific diets or following special sanitary procedures. Make sure those instructions are followed. Actively monitor pets during group and individual activities to ensure pet and human safety.

CONTROLS OVER WORK
There is little independent control over the work in this position. The days are structured and the practice manager and owner set routines.

OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS

Skills and Knowledge: Apply knowledge and skills in controlling/handling individual animal temperaments. Actively monitor pets’ body language, in individual and group settings, to be on alert for signs of aggression &/or fearfulness. Demonstrate skill and caution when handling large and small pets. Have ability to gain animals confidence when restraining them for transport, care and/or treatment. Demonstrate knowledge of animal safety.
Physical Effort: Often requires lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Frequently requires handling of materials up to 20 lbs. Additionally, handle dogs weighing up to 150 lbs. Walking and/or standing for long periods. Frequently works in a bent position. May be required to use strength or agility in capturing and restraining stronger, more active animals.
Working Conditions: Work is performed inside and outside – exposure to sun, heat, humidity, cold, rain and damp working conditions (pool). Exposure to unpleasant odors and noises. Exposure to bites, scratches and animal wastes. Possible exposure to contagious diseases. Exposure to cleaning solvents and chemicals.
